3D Digital Sculpt: Life Drawing
Alongside our 3D Sculpture work we have also been partaking in life drawing sessions in which we learn how to draw the human body and different aspects of it. I have also drawn in a few different styles for example i have blocked out some of the main shapes of the human body and also focused on some simple stick figure drawings that illustrate the flow of the body and curvature of the spine etc. For some of the lessons I decided to draw the whole body of the human that was in front of us and others I decided to just focus on some specific aspects such as the hands. Here are a few of the drawings I have gathered from the sessions.
These drawing sessions really helped me to get the curvature of the human body and just how the body can bend and fold in different positions; also the drawings allowed me to locate some of the muscles in the human body such as the muscles around the rib cage and also in the legs of the human body.
From focusing on certain parts of the body for example the Hand which i drew in one of the images above i was able to see just how the proportions looked and how the hand came together in sections like fingers, knuckles and the fatty pads on the palm of the hand.

Over all with the human sculpt we were doing i think that the life drawing really helped me and also doing some drawings at home helped me get the human figure understood which in turn i was able to put into the digital sculpt.
